Could Sophie’s new look be for her role as Margaret Ratliff in The Staircase? She recently signed up for the limited series – based on Netflix’s true crime docuseries of the same name – which boasts other big names in the cast such as Toni Collette, Colin Firth and Juliette Binoche.
Her character Margaret is one of convicted killer Michael Peterson’s adopted daughters.

Turner previously shared an anecdote about her Thrones audition to play Sansa Stark, confirming she originally went for “fun” with some of her school friends.
“I didn’t tell my parents I auditioned for Game of Thrones, they just kind of found out. Me and all my friends auditioned. We just thought it was kind of a fun, jokey thing to do. And then I just got call back after call back,” she recalled.
“My parents found out when I was in the final seven, and then my mum kind of freaked out, and she called my dad and said, ‘I don’t know if we can do this’,” she continued.
“But my dad said, ‘Shut up, this is what she has wanted her whole life. You have to let her give it a go’.”
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray. Spin-off House of the Dragon is now filming.
