Blumhouse Productions’ supernatural horror movie Run Sweetheart Run will land on Amazon Prime Video as opposed to cinema screens.

Starring Game of Thrones‘ Pilou Asbæk (he played the fierce Euron Greyjoy), the movie is written and directed by Shana Feste and centres on a blind date which turns violent.

Run Sweetheart Run also features Charlie’s AngelsElla Balinska and MCU favourite Clark Gregg, and was supposed to have a theatrical release this month.

Speaking to Deadline, Amazon Studios’ co-head of movies Matt Newman stated: “We are excited to continue our partnership with Blumhouse and Automatik. We can’t wait to bring this thriller to our global Prime Video customers.

“Filmmaker Shana Feste takes the audience on a knuckle-bending ride that is sure to keep genre fans on the edge of their seats.”

Feste herself noted: “As crazy as audiences may find the film protagonist’s experience, I wrote and directed a film that is based on a very personal story for me and I’m thrilled that a global audience will have the chance to see it soon on Amazon Prime.

“I’m also grateful to my friends at Universal and Blumhouse for their unending support of the film.”

Meanwhile, producer Jason Blum labelled Feste “supremely talented”, adding: “I’m thrilled that movie-loving audiences around the world will get to see the film soon.”

Run Sweetheart Run received its world premiere earlier this year at Sundance Film Festival.
