Game of Thrones cast grew to be so huge over the eight seasons, that one has to really wreck their brains sometimes to remember when a particular character came on to the big stage of the drama. Many acclaimed actors graced the screen for small parts in the thread of ice and fire, yet left impact nonetheless. When these stars make a move anywhere in the world, our eyes follow. Richard E. Grant, a giant of an actor, who appeared on GoT as a part of the traveling drama company in Braavos in season 6 has made a move. Richard will appear in Loki, one of the upcoming limited series by Marvel to premiere on Disney+.

Game of Thrones actor Richard E. Grant will appear in Marvel's Disney+ series Loki

Discussing Film has reported that Richard E. Grant has joined the cast of Loki. But Richard’s role in the series is not yet known. The British actor has been in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) before as Dr. Zander Rice in ‘Logan’. As for the Disney+ Loki series, however, he might only appear in a single episode, the sources close to Variety reported.

His presence has been vast though with recent roles in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’, and ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ for which he got a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars 2019. He has also starred in TV shows like Doctor Who, The Fear, The Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, and more. He is currently starring in Jason Segal’s anthology series Dispatches From Elsewhere.

In Game of Thrones, he played a character called Izembaro. We saw him in the sixth season during Arya Stark’s training with the Faceless Men. While Arya watched a play called ‘The Bloody Hand’ based on The War of the Five Kings, Izembaro was on stage. He was playing Robert Baratheon first, and then Tywin Lannister. He was the writer and director of the play as well. So, it was a brief cameo-of-sorts for Grant.

The Disney+ series will see Tom Hiddleston reprise his role as the ever-playful, God of mischief, Loki. Although his death in Avengers: Infinity War could make it quite difficult to be alive, fantasy and Endgame have its perks. The last film in the first phase of MCU gave Loki a chance to survive, while being dead, in an alternate universe where he went after stealing the space stone. So, now in the series, Loki will pop out at different points in time and influence historical events. Loki, as a central character of a show, is intriguing for sure!

Michael Waldron, who wrote for Rick & Morty will serve as writer, executive producer and show-runner for the Loki series; while Kate Herron (who directed a few episodes in the series Sex Education) will direct all six episodes of the series and be an executive producer too. The cast includes Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, and Cailey Fleming. Loki is slated to release in early 2021 on the streaming service, Disney+.

The phase two of MCU will have many new developments. There’s a line-up of Marvel miniseries on Disney+ including Loki, Wandavision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that will play a big role in this new setup.

We hope for Richard E. Grant to play a short-but-memorable part in this universe. What are your thoughts? Tell us in the comments.
