Game Of Thrones producers have been accused of ‘taking the Night King’s death’ from a Bollywood soap.
There have been many ‘conspiracy’ and plagiarism theories discussed on Reddit and the fight in the woods that saw Ayra Stark bring the Battle of Winterfell is claimed to be similar to a scene aired in a Bollywood soap opera.
It is the moment when Arya launches herself at the leader of the White Walkers, before dropping her Valyrian steel dagger from one hand to another and plunging it into the Night King, that has attracted attention.
Redditor u/Jugal0707 has pointed towards a Bollywood soap in Sony Sab TV called Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga (which roughly translates to Aladdin: You Must Have Heard About Me/My Name).
The fan’s theory suggests that Game Of Thrones producers may have leaned heavily on the Bollywood action piece, but the timing of filming indicates production at almost simultaneously.
It has been the case in the past that Bollywood has looked to the West for cultural inspiration, as well as looking to make their own versions of popular US movies.
This time fans think they may have influenced one of the biggest moments in Game Of Thrones eight seasons or is it just complete coincidence?
Arya had pulled off a similar move when fighting with Brienne of Tarth in season seven of the epic tale and the two productions were wrapped up at pretty much the same time.
The Bollywood soap aired in August 2018, just at the time Game Of Thrones producers were bringing the curtain down on filming the final season.
It would seem unlikely that one or the other ‘copied’ and with the move by Ayra being used in martial arts movies before, fans think that both camps may have turned to the battle move at the same time.
