Game of Thrones used to be everybody’s favourite tv show until it suddenly wasn’t following a disappointing eighth season in the eyes of many. Still, the series still holds a lot of weight, so fans may be pleased to know there’s a new game based on the series called Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows, which is available now for Apple Arcade.

Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows comes to us courtesy of Devolver Digital, who have created a real-time idle game that has a focus on narrative. It looks to explore the 8000-year history of the Night’s Watch and its never-ending vigil atop the Wall.

Players will guide the decisions of the Lord Commanders as the game passes by in real-time, even when you’re not playing. As the seasons change you’ll look to send out expeditions beyond the Wall itself. Ravens will deliver messages and it’ll be up to you to choose when and how to respond.

The rangers that carry out the expeditions to the North will return with notable marks on them which could also affect those on the Wall. Aside from that, players will have to ensure defences are fully prepared, supplies are stocked and that there’s a healthy supply of recruits heading in from Black Castle.

Given that this is an idle game any expeditions you choose to carry out will still continue even when you’re not playing Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows. This means that you might want to turn notifications on for this one so you know when everything is wrapped up and your decisions are required once again.

Game of Thrones: Tale of Crows is available now on Apple Arcade, a subscription service that costs $4.99 per month. For more information on other games that are available in its extensive library, check out our dedicated hub page.
