Game Of Thrones’ production team appear to be working on a new project named after A Song Of Ice and Fire.
Vince Gerardis, an executive producer on Game Of Thrones and the upcoming House Of The Dragon, has listed the series on his production company Startling Inc.’s website.
But there’s a mystery hanging over what the series could entail, seeing as A Song Of Ice and Fire is the name of George RR Martin’s book series, covering the adventures of Westeros.
A Game Of Thrones was the first novel in the collection, with A Dance Of Dragons – heavily reported to be the inspiration behind House Of The Dragon – being the fifth installment.
As well as this, A Song Of Ice And Fire has not been listed with HBO – the home of the two major series – and is instead connected to a company called The Works.
So, is it a working title for another TV series in the ever-expanding GOT universe? Perhaps plans for something bigger? Sounds like we’ll find out soon enough.
The discovery from WinterIsComing.Net comes a month before the new series House Of The Dragon goes into production.
The series, which will film in London, will star Paddy Considine, Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke, and will be set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones.
It will focus on the Targaryen family and their mythology as one of the former Royal houses of Westeros, who ruled an empire before their thirst for power gave way to insanity.
The series is slated for release in 2022.
A second, limited series spin-off titled The Tale Of Dunk and Egg has also been given the go-ahead, following Dunk, Ser Duncan the Tall, the future Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, and Egg, the future king Aegon V Targaryen.
George RR Martin has also got animated series Sandkings in the works at HBO.
