Game Of Thrones star Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has welcomed a baby son with wife Kelsey Henson.
The actor, who played Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane in the fantasy series, shared a very detailed breakdown on Instagram of the day their son was born, starting with the moment his wife told him her waters had broken at 6am.
Revealing that Kelsey gave birth in a birthing pool, Hafthor said she ‘did amazing’ and ‘was in complete control of her mind and body’.
‘I am completely in awe of how strong she is, and so proud of her for everything she did to prepare herself throughout her pregnancy. It cannot be put into words how proud I am and how I feel about this experience,’ he wrote.
Their son came into the world at 11.19am on Sunday.
The actor continued: ‘After an extremely hard 2 hours and 19 mins of pushing our healthy, strong, beautiful boy arrived weighing 3530 grams, 52 cm long.
‘To finish the most beautiful, awe inspiring labour was the most wonderful phone call to my daughter to introduce her to her new little brother.’
At 5.30pm the family took their new son home and ‘both mum and baby doing super well (sic)’.
The couple have picked a name for the baby and have chosen to keep it a secret for now, but Hafþór added they ‘cannot wait to share it with you all soon’.
He also added a string of pictures taken moments after their son arrived, with he and Kelsey gazing at him while she sat in the birthing pool.
Further pictures taken at home show the actor cradling the little one in bed, and another sweet photo includes their cat looking at the new arrival.
The couple – who tied the knot in Iceland in October 2018 – announced their pregnancy in April with a sweet gender reveal video.
Hafþór, 31, and Kelsey, 30, burst a black balloon filled with blue confetti.
The TV star is already dad to a daughter from a previous relationship.
The actor, also the world’s strongest man, and his wife have been together since 2017 after meeting in a bar in Canada.
Kelsey, who stands at 5’2 against her husband’s 6’9, asked the Game Of Thrones star for a picture and they are said to have hit it off from there.
