We always knew the Mountain from Game Of Thrones didn’t exist on some tiny morsels of food each day, however now we know the extent to his hench-ness.
Turns out the man also known as Hafthor Bjornsson eats five rib-eye steaks a day to maintain his status as strongest man in the world.
That’s not just a hyperbole, or hyper-bowl as Simon Cowell may say, he is legit, certified, officially the strongest man in the world.
During a recent interview, the man was chowing down on a bowl of goodness (always. eating. food) when he was asked to describe just what was in the meal.
‘Rice, steak – this was ribeye I minced down – peppers, carrots, and there are supplements in here as well,’ Björnsson explained in a chat with BroBible.
‘The liquid is chicken stock. It is the best meal for growth and strength. I’ll eat this five times a day.’
Five times.
He has a massive meal of this nature five times a day in order to fuel his body.
Holy moly, no wonder Cersei enlisted him to protect her. Even in his zombie state he’s the only one who can protect her from those Iron Throne chasers. Maybe. That’s to be confirmed…
However, Thor is not a monster (IRL, at least) as he revealed he also likes to mix this monotonous meaty meal up by having ‘six eggs and six pieces of bacon with a cup of rice’ for breakfast.
Seriously, we hope HBO is factoring a grocery allowance into his contract, because thinking of his shopping bills is making us weep.
Measuring in at a massive six foot nine inches (Mountain by name, mountain by nature) the actor and strongman said that while he ‘likes being tall’, it comes with its shortcomings (see what we did there?).
‘The only thing that has annoyed me being this tall and heavy is that you can’t really fit anywhere. You have to custom-make the bed [and] you can’t travel with your bed. It’s very annoying,’ he said, as we nodded along like we could relate.
‘Trying to fit into a cab or Uber is challenging as well. I have to fly business class because I just don’t fit into economy. Otherwise, I’m proud to be tall.’
