Game of Thrones fans saw a number of their favourite characters die during the season finale of the HBO fantasy.
However, no love was lost after the infamous siblings Jamie Lannister (played by Nicolaj Coster Waldau) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) were killed off after becoming trapped in a fire.
Fans will remember Jamie finding his love Cersei after partaking in a fatal battle against Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk).
The final scene saw the siblings from a slightly more human angle as they clutched on to each other before the building collapsed on top of them, and while many fans criticise the deaths to this day, one fan revealed this may have been how Jamie’s end was always meant to be.
Looking back to the original books A Song of Ice and Fire, the fan revealed the deaths may have been foreshadowed in a dream.
The books saw Jamie have a dream that is similar to the description of his death.
The dream describes Jamie knowingly run to his doom, with Cersei being his only light.
The text reads: “There were watery caverns deep below Casterly Rock, but this one was strange to him. “What place is this?” “Your place.” The voice echoed;
“It was a hundred voices, a thousand, the voices of all the Lannisters since Lann the Clever, who’d lived at the dawn of days.”
The user suggests that he does not recognise where he is because he is actually at The Red Keep.

Reddit user The Analytics explained: “Despite being convinced that he is below Casterly Rock, he weirdly doesn’t recognize the place.
“This is not unusual for a dream, but could also imply that he actually isn’t below Casterly Rock but below another castle that also has watery caverns underneath it (like the Red Keep where he fights Euron Greyjoy and suffers fatal injuries).
The fan continued: “Jaime also keeps being told that this was “his place”. Maybe they mean that this is the place where he will die.”
The book seemed to reveal not only Jamie’s death, but who would die with him.
The dream continued: “’This is your place, Brother. This is your darkness.’ [Cersei’s] torch was the only light in the cavern. Her torch was the only light in the world.”
Could the siblings have been destined to die together all along?
Meanwhile, other fans of the show have been rewatching Arya Stark’s (Maisie Williams) early scenes that saw her train to become the warrior we saw in the finale.
One Reddit user pointed out Syria Forel (Miltos Yerolemou) may have been hired by Ned Stark (Sean Bean) because he knew his daughter would be the one to take out the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) all along
The user theorised: “It’s almost like [Ned] has a flashback (or possible foreshadowing) to the sounds of a roaring battle and swords clashing and his face drops and it almost looks like he grows pale.
“What father in this world and time period would let his young highborn daughter keep a secret sword, and then go as far as to hire a skilled teacher to let her learn swordplay?”
