Who knew being Tommen Baratheon would cause such a reaction?! (Picture: HBO)

Dean-Charles Chapman, aka Game Of Thrones’ Tommen Baratheon, was nearly punched in the face by an irate fan over his Westeros character.

Of all the people in the show, it seems odd that someone would take exception to the passive Tommen, who spent a brief period of time as the Seven Kingdoms ruler under the guide of mother Cersei (Lena Headey).

But alas, it seems that some people were really caught up in their feelings about him, and Dean-Charles revealed that on one occasion it almost got violent.

‘He was like, “I really hate you. I want to punch you in the face”,’ he told Variety.

‘My mates were like, “Whoa whoa whoa!”’

Thankfully, thanks to his pal’s help, he was able to walk away uninjured, but it’s pretty obvious it left an impression.

Since leaving the show at the end of season 7, when Tommen made a hasty and heartbreaking exit by throwing himself out of a window, Dean-Charles also admitted that he stopped watching the series.

Despite his he called for the show to release its alternative ending, after the divisive finale left 2million viewers demanding the entire eighth season be reshot.

‘Yeah, why not?’ he said when asked by TMZ whether HBO should release it.

When pressed further and suggested the other ending may ‘mend the fans’ hearts’ he said: ‘Exactly.’

Amid the controversial series ending, which Peter Dinklage dubbed fans were treating ‘like a bad break up’, the show was also snubbed from this year’s Golden Globes.

Kit Harington was the only member of the cast or crew to receive a nomination for his work as Jon Snow.

But the SAG Awards were slightly nicer, putting them up for three nods in their shortlist.

Game Of Thrones season 1-8 is available now on NOW TV, DVD and Blu-Ray.
