I think that the theory of Jon sacrificing himself and becoming the new night king is the best bet as to what GRRM meant by a bittersweet ending.

Im not sure if the Theory about all is a Loop makes sense, i do agree that there are things that reapeated in history but didnt GRRM said something like it has an beginning a middle and an End? I dont think he would do something like that. Furthermore i dont think Jon will become the Night King they set him and bran up to be kinda like NKs Arch Enemy in some sense. But maybe i just dont want it to happen 😀

I think the show is gonna end with sam reading to little sam and little jon targaryan about all the things their now dead parents did. he calls the book " a song of ice and fire" which is the show we have been watching the whole time, and goes to eat supper with gilly, as they look outside at the endless winter. the end.

Danni and Cersei have so many similarities its uncanny.

1) Have had three 'children'
2) Have been raped by their lovers
3) Both their fathers ruled Westeros at the same time
4)Had two brothers, and one they hated
5)Will have relationships of incest (Jamie and Jon/Viserys)
6) Have had a child turn to the other side (viserion to the Others/Tommen to the High Sparrow
7) Have had miscarriage of their presumed first born
8) Have had prophecies revealed regarding them and their future
9) Are competing to become or stay Queen of Westeros
10) Have a resurrected warrior at their side (Mountain and Jon)

yes! the hound! smoke- the fire, perfect fit, and salt, if you remember, they were at saltpans (almost) when he (almost) died, and taken to be healed (reborn) in the quiet isle (books at least) on coast, saltwater, and even if hes not azor ahai, i think they have shown him be crippled by fire repeatedly, so many times in so many seasons, he is going to HAVE to beat his fire phobia in a big way to complete his arc. just please, please dont kill him!

ANYONE who knew Jon was in the Night's Watch would assume he deserted. So they made him King in the North.

The Valonqhar theory was in the books. They only showed a little bit of Maggy the Frog's prophesy in the show, and omitted the "little brother". However, Valyrian is gender neutral, so it could equally mean "little sister" – Arya, anyone? Given what Cersei put Sansa through, it would probably be her right to kill Cersei, but can she use one of Arya's faces? That would be a great twist to the theory, since Sansa is also a little sister – she's younger than Jon and Robb.

Jaime is one of my favorites after Arya and Tyrion. I can tell they have been building his character up for something huge. So killing Cersei, being Azor Ahai, all of it are not really distant possibilities.

what the geek I do agree with you on the Jaime part. I have seen people being totally against the idea of his redemption even though so far it has all been done nice and neat.

Tyrion is not a Targaryen.Tywin's words against him are a diversion. VARYS is the third Targaryen. If he did not have "Kind's Blood",( which is Targaryen), the sorcerer would not have spent large amounts of money for him as a child; the sorcerer could have kidnapped or enticed a street urchin for free, also the blood sacrifice of Varys' 'parts' would not have worked and summoned the Voice from the flames, right? Varys shaves his head to hide the fact that he has the tell-tale Targaryen silver hair. Maggy the Frog's predictions are already off: She foretold that Cersei would have three children, but she had four: Robert's child that died as a baby, Joffrey, Mycella and Tommen.
Davos will be the last man standing. Mark my word.

Lol, I love that last theory. In the books, it's basically implied that the ability to warg is a family trait, seeing as multiple Stark children where able to do so (not just Bran). So maybe it's not such a stretch after all 😛

I think the TV show is heading in this direction but in the books it's going to be the same but could be different but the same too
