A sex scene involving Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and prostitute Ros (Esme Bianco) was the only moment from the Game Of Thrones pilot to make it to air.
The unaired pilot of Game Of Thrones, created by Dan Benioff and David Weiss, was by their own admission…not the greatest.
Bianco revealed that her character’s brothel hook up with Tyrion Lannister in the episode was the only scene not end up on the cutting room floor.
In Kim Renfro’s new book The Unofficial Guide to Game Of Thrones she recalls comments made by Bianco at Con Of Thrones in 2018.
She said: ‘I was originally just called “the red-headed whore”. I didn’t have a name at that point.
‘And I was only meant to do this one scene with [Tyrion]…and they reshot almost the entire pilot with the exception of my scene with Peter.’
However the moment led to a continuity blunder that fans surprisingly didn’t make a big deal out of.
Dinklage originally wore a wig to match George RR Martin’s description of the character in the books, that he had hair so blonde ‘it seemed white’.
With the sex scene being kept in, the actor’s hair magically changes to his natural hair during the aired pilot episode.
The actress also revealed that Martin, the author of the A Song Of Ice And Fire books, called for the ‘red-headed whore’ to be given a name.
Her character unfortunately met a violent end as she was killed with a crossbow fired by Tyrion’s nephew Joffrey (Jack Gleeson).
Recently Benioff and Weiss confessed they didn’t have a clue what they were doing when they started working on Game Of Thrones.
Making a rare appearance at the Austin Film Festival, they said of Game Of Thrones author George RR Martin: ‘We don’t know why he trusted us with his life’s work.’
They admitted to making basic writing mistakes, saying: ‘Everything we could make a mistake in, we did,’ which included script, casting, and even costume design.
To them, the experience was basically an ‘expensive film school’, an opportunity to learn how to write, produce and direct.
Game Of Thrones is available to watch on Sky Atlantic.
