Despite coming to an end in 2019, interesting revelations about Game of Thrones continue to be unveiled. The hit HBO series was based in the mythical land of Westeros and the cast had to undergo some fascinating transformations. Star of the show Conleth Hill exposed his true feelings about going bald for his role.
Conleth Hill is best known for playing Lord Varys on the hit fantasy series.
Also known as Spider, Varys was highly skilled at acquiring secrets and became well known for being a know-it-all.
Wielding information, he would pit enemies against each other and manipulate his way into becoming untrustworthy among those at the court.
Known as the Master of Whispers, Varys wasn’t a real Lord and was only addressed as such for being a member of the small council.

There was The North, The Vale, The Iron Islands, The Riverlands, The Crownlands, The Stormlands, The Westerlands, The Reach and Dorne.
Although Varys had a reputation for being a skilled manipulator with spies found everywhere, in private he was extremely loyal to those who had the same goal as him, this was seen with his friendship with Ed Stark (played by Sean Bean) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).
Varys had a very noble appearance: he sported a bald look, was dressed in rich silks and wore soft slippers.
Actor Conleth, who had a head full of silver locks, recently opened up about completely shaving his head for the role.

In the James Hibbard novel, Fire Cannot Kill A Dragon, Conleth gave a candid interview in which he revealed shaving his head made him “very depressed.”
He confessed to having some initial reluctance about playing Varys, and thought the show would be about “Dungeons and Dragons.”
Although originally taping for the role as King Robert, he revealed the producers called him back to read for Lord Varys.
The actor admitted he thought it was “nice bull***t” when the producers said they would come back to him about playing King Robert.
When Conleth read for the role of the Master of Whispers, they asked if he could shave his head, to which he revealed he’d never shaved his head before and stated: ”I was very depressed.”
Eventually, Lord Varys met his demise in season eight at the hands of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).
His death was ordered after Tyrion informed her that Varys had spread the word about Jon Snow’s (Kit Harrington) true lineage.
As Jon was also in line for the Iron Throne this could’ve ruined her chances for becoming monarch of the Seven Kingdoms.
Thankfully for Game of Thrones fans, HBO announced a spin-off titled House of Dragons, which give viewers an insight into events taken place 300 years before the original series.
Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available to stream on HBO.
