Yeah, in the show he's taken on the role of Coldhands, (not really but its close enough). But in the books I think he's probably either wandering around in the north or he's in the same condition he's in the show but with the White Walkers.

The new Benjen looks like a mix between old Benjen and ColdHands from the book.

you can see the night king's human form before he became a white walker in bran's vision where he is captive by the "children" there you can see his face whether he is from North of Westeros or South….if he is from the North theres a chance that he could be a Stark or a Karstark or any other houses from the north

The Daario theory is quite crazy. Didn't Tyrion and Benjen meet and travel to the Wall together in the first book? Do Tyrion and Daario meet in Dance? If both are correct, it'd be pretty safe to assume Benjen is not Daario, or Tyrion is not as smart as we think he is.
