Game of Thrones fans may know that the show had a famously disastrous pilot episode that was never released to the public.
Following the bad feedback, showrunners quickly made some adjustments, and recast Emilia Clarke as the new Daenerys Targaryen.
Although fans may not be able to picture Daenerys any other way, Kit Harington recently spoke out about the moment he first saw Emilia.
In conversation with Esquire, the Jon Snow actor revealed Emilia “takes your breath away” when walking into a room.
The Jon Snow star recounted a conversation he had with Robb Stark actor Rich Madden, as the two discussed the then new cast member.
Kit revealed: “I had been talking to Rich Madden at the bar, and he went, ‘I’ve just met the new Daenerys. She’s gorgeous.’
“And I was like, ‘Really? I haven’t met her yet,'”
The star went on to reveal his reaction when he finally saw the new Mother of Dragons.
He added: “And then she came in and I saw her and was like, ‘Wow, she takes your breath away when she walks into a room, Emilia.”
However, despite the two leads knowing each other for a long time off screen, their characters didn’t meet until season seven of the HBO fantasy.

Taking to Reddit, user MarkoMD007 shared a snap of the text, which revealed one of Daenerys’ darker inner thoughts from earlier on in the books.
The text read: “Women do not forget. Women do not forgive.
“No, Dany thought, and the Usurper’s dogs will learn that, when I return to Westeros.”
Fans were quick to infer the line foreshadowed Daenerys’ change of character and moreover, her plan to set fire to King’s Landing.
One user agreed, commenting on the phrase Usurper’s dogs: “She literally said that that’s how she saw the people of KL when they didn’t turn on Cersei like the Slaves turned on the slavers in Meereen.”
