Interesting that you mentioned a raven is born out of a dark womb, and with it, brought the sun. This reminds me of when Melisandre births a dark figure to kill Renly… Could the raven be a gift from the Lord of Light?
I've always wondered: if Bloodraven was both born and raised in King's Landing, unlike Aegor, who was raised in the Riverlands, why is he named Lord Rivers instead of Lord Waters?

Why do sword fights last so long in ASOIAF it doesn't make any sense. Sword fights are over in seconds. They don't last 30 fucking minutes.

Awesome stuff! What about Jamie Lannister he has a lot of similarities to Blood Raven too! Kinslayer/ Kingslayer. Not willing to dispute the rumors of his own reputation. A man with a difficult love life, who had to make a sacrifice of his own honor for the good of the realm?

I think Bloodraven found out about the years of offerings to the great other by the nights watch and wildlings while he was Lord Commander and decided to find out more where he was captured and enslaved by the children.
You guys do realize that it is impossible for Arthur Dayne to be Mance Rayder? He's confirmed by GRRM himself to be long dead.
