HBO recently announced that writer Bryan Cogman would craft the fifth Game of Thrones spinoff. Screen Rant reports that the network initially planned on rolling out several Thrones spinoffs. George R.R. Martin, author of the original Game of Thrones book series, cleared up the details on Facebook. Although he said that he’d love five spinoffs, he explained that HBO is not transforming into ‘Game of Thrones network.’ Fans can expect two to three spinoff pilots. He added that one could launch as early as 2019.
