While House of the Dragon began with a strong first season, the second season has elicited mixed reactions from viewers. The first season set the stage with character introductions and the backdrop of the impending civil war, whereas the second season delved into the onset of the conflict, emphasizing character arcs and the much-anticipated battles. And just like the viewers, it seems like George R. R. Martin himself has some issues with Season 2.
George R. R. Martin will write about House of the Dragon Season 2
The second season of House of the Dragon saw a massive decrease in viewership. Martin has noticed that as well, and he plans to write it on his blog, Not A Blog:
“I do not look forward to other posts I need to write, about everything that’s gone wrong with HOUSE OF THE DRAGON… but I need to do that too, and I will. Not today, though. TODAY is Zozobra’s day, when we turn away from gloom.”
George R. R. Martin had issues with the Targaryen sigil used in Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon
This is not the first time Martin has been open about his issues with the show. He has pointed out the mistakes in Targaryen sigil in both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon in an earlier post. He wrote: “A couple years on, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON decided the heraldry should be consistent with GAME OF THRONES.. but they went with the bad sigil rather than the good one.”
