Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is one of the most accomplished novelists today, with several best-selling books under his belt. The veteran author is already associated with a bunch of new shows, including Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. Now, a lot of big changes have undergone at the WB headquarters, that have affected major franchises such as the DC Universe as well as Game of Thrones. House of The Dragon’s co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik left the show after Season 2 was announced. And his exit added an extra layer of burden on Ryan Condal and Martin’s shoulders.

According to a recent report by the Twitter account westerosies, a rumor about George R. R. Martin being involved in a number of script rewrites for Season 2 has been circulating. This might be one of the reasons why the starting date of the show’s filming has been further delayed to April, which was initially firmly confirmed to begin in March.

In an earlier interview, writer Sara Hess had said they had already finished writing the Season 2 finale back in January. If the show is actually undergoing rewrites, there might be something that Martin would not approve of. And the task becomes even more difficult since Sapochnik is not there to offer his insight.
