While Game Of Thrones await the final season of the TV show and The Winds Of Winter, the next book in A Song Of Ice And Fire series, George RR Martin is onto the next project.

Martin is producing an animated film version of his book The Ice Dragon.

The Hollywood Reporter says Martin ‘will be actively involved with the project’, acting as producer.

There are also rumours he will be penning the screenplay, but this is yet to be confirmed.

The Ice Dragon tells the story of a young girl called Adara who has a magical connection with an ice dragon and has to stop another breed of dragon from destroying her world.

With the author acting as producer and maybe turning his hand to script writing, he’s likely to be very busy – too busy to finish his latest Game Of Thrones book perhaps…

In the meantime work is still underway on season eight of the hit HBO show.

Star Emilia Clarke, who appears in Star Wars prequel Solo: A Star Wars Story, recently teased Game Of Thrones’ ‘weird’ ending.

Emilia Clarke says the final moments of her character Daenerys are ‘f****d up’ Picture: HBO)

She told Vanity Fair that her character Daenerys’ last moments ‘f**ked me up’.

‘Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…I’m doing all this weird s**t.

‘You’ll know what I mean when you see it.’

She also said the cast are filming multiple endings to make sure no one gives the game away.

There’s lots of different endings that could happen; I think we’re doing all of them and we aren’t being told which is actually what’s going to happen,’ she added to The Hollywood Reporter.
