You’d be forgiven for thinking that Glasgow was situated ‘beyond the Wall’ since winters here seem to last for years on end.

But it’s not just the weather that makes it feel like we should be battling for control of the Iron Throne, as one Glasgow funny man has shown that the city really does have a Seven Kingdoms of Westeros vibe to it by recreating the Game of Thrones intro using a bronze 3D map of the west end.

The hilarious 30-second long video by TikTok user @JohnboyJohnboyJohnboy has gone viral, with more than 60,000 views since it was posted at the weekend.

Entitled ‘Game O’ Thrones intro but the West End of Glasgow’, the video sees him hum the intro of the TV show as he passes his camera over the bronze 3D map near Kelvingrove Museum – pointing out the Clydeside Expressway and Glasgow Uni before finishing the video with ‘Glesga’.

The funny clip has been met with a wave of positive responses, with one TikTok user writing “not gonna lie if they ever do Game of Thrones Glasgow edition this gotta be the theme tune” and another writing “Give this guy an Oscar”. Another wrote: “I really appreciate this, thank you for this gem of genius”.

Other TikTok users have also said that the video is better than the final season of the hit TV show – and, being partial to a bit of Glasgow fun ourselves, we can’t help but agree!
