Welcome to Monday. We’ve got something good for you.
So recently, Game of Thrones star and noted Madonna superfan Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) attended one of her idol’s concerts at the London Palladium. Madonna, who in turn is a bit of a Game of Thrones superfan…
…came down from the stage to chat with the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, and the result was magic:
The best parts start about a third of the way in. Madonna takes a sip of Christie’s beer, dribbles a little on her chin, and Christie wipes it away. “Winter’s coming,” Madonna quips. Christie, who is nothing if not game, ups the ante: “Tonight you’re so great, winter isn’t the only thing that’s coming.”
Really, Christie is killing the dirty joke game the entire time. “I love to do it alone,” she said when Madonna asked if she often came to the theater by herself. “If you want something done well, you have to do it yourself.”
Really, there’s little we can do but stan and move on with our lives.
In other news, how might the world have been different if Lena Headey hadn’t been cast as Cersei Lannister? Appearing on Live with Ryan and Kelly, Scandal star Darby Stanchfield talked about her unsuccessful audition to play the Queen of Westeros way back when:
She does have the hair down, but of course it’s impossible at this point to picture anyone but Headey throwing shade and exploding buildings.
