Hafthor Bjornsson has vowed to never compete in the World’s Strongest Man again in the wake of Eddie Hall’s ‘cheating scandal’ video.

Bjornsson had accused the Brit, along with referee Colin Bryce, of cheating to win the 2017 World’s Strongest Man finals during the Viking Press.

However, video evidence uploaded to Hall’s YouTube channel appeared to dismiss the Icelander’s claims.

Subsequently, Bjornsson, who starred in popular TV show Game of Thrones as Gregor Clegane, insists he is ‘probably retired’ from participating at World’s Strongest Man events due to the involvement of Giants Live, the competition’s qualifier hosts, in Hall’s video.

During a live Twitch stream, the 2018 champion said: “I’m absolutely done. I would never in my life compete for Giants Live again, never.

“And I probably would never compete at World’s Strongest Man again ever and I’m probably retired.

“That was just the last straw for me, that BS video, and that Giants Live posted as well was just the last straw.

“Those motherf***ers went too far and I’m done with this.

“I’m not competing for those guys ever again. I might do Arnold [Strongman Classic], but Giants Live, never.”

Hall slammed Bjornsson for tarnishing his reputation with ‘lies’.

The pair are set to settle their differences by facing each other in a boxing match in Las Vegas next year.

As an indication of his strength, Bjornsson recently broke Hall’s 500kg deadlift record to huge fanfare and then called his rival out.

“CoreSports just offered me a seven-year contract, I have signed it already.

“Eddie Hall has been running his mouth now for weeks and I know he has been given the same contract.

“So Eddie, I just knocked out your record. And now I’m ready to knock you out in the ring.”

Bjornsson’s prowess with his fists went viral in 2015 when he was involved in a slow-paced, bare-knuckle spar with Conor McGregor.
