Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is currently a hot topic amongst fantasy lovers all over the world. Things have just become more interesting after HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys recently confirmed the highly awaited prequel series has finished production, and very soon we might get a release date and a full trailer. Though he is mostly mum about details, this is still good news for the fans who have been waiting for some solid information for such a long time.
Bloys spoke to The Hollywood Reporter via WebEx as part of his semi-annual TCA pitstops for a round of 20 questions, which included several questions about House of The Dragon and other Game of Thrones spinoffs. When asked about the rumored spinoffs, Bloys said:
“Right now, there’s one Game of Thrones series, which is House of the Dragon. Nothing else has been greenlit. There’s various other projects in development but nothing else is greenlit and right now we’re focused on House of the Dragon. I don’t believe we’ve passed on any others.”
Bloys also talked about whether the House of The Dragon trailer will be showcased at the San Diego Comic-Con, and his cryptic reply was:
“I don’t know about Comic-Con; we haven’t announced any of our plans yet. I don’t even want to say “soon” but you’ll start to see material … if I say “soon,” I’ll leave that vague. So maybe soon.”
And finally, this is what he said about House of The Dragon Season 2:
“Typically speaking, I like to take an approach where we will talk about what a second season might look like and talk about scripts. But we tend to like to see how a show performs. That said, if I were betting, I’d say there’s a pretty good shot that House of the Dragon will get a season two. But we tend to like things to air and give it some time. That said, on most shows, we’ll do preparation and put ourselves in a good position to move forward.”
It seems like Bloys is very confident about House of The Dragon’s performance. Are you excited about the Game of Thrones prequel? Tell us in the comments below!
