Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is on the way. The show recently wrapped up production, and according to HBO chief Casey Bloys the only Game of Thrones spinoff that has been greenlit officially. However, he didn’t deny the fact that there were other projects at work, stemming from the GOTverse or the Martinverse, whichever way you prefer to call it. And it seems like the second season of the much awaited prequel series is already in talks at HBO, according to a recent statement by Bloys.
Talking to Variety about House of The Dragon Season 2, Bloys said, “If you’re betting on whether we’re going to do a second season, I think it’s probably a pretty good bet. Generally speaking, we usually let something air and see how it does, but obviously, we’ll make preparations ahead of time to make sure we’re ahead of the game.”
In another statement, Bloys made it quite clear Game of Thrones fans are not getting any more spin-offs any time soon. He said, “Right now, there’s one ‘Game of Thrones’ show that is greenlit and that is ‘House of the Dragon,’ which we’re excited by. I feel really good about what I’ve seen so far. As for any more greenlight announcements, I would never time it around the launch of a show, whether to greenlight something or not. Those are separate events.”
