It’s no question that HBO’s original series Game of Thrones has a massive cult following. Fans can’t seem to get enough of George R.R. Martin’s fantasy even though the final episode aired nearly two years ago. That’s why it’s no surprise there are multiple spinoffs in the works over at HBO.
In addition to the prequel series House of the Dragon which is set to start filming soon, there are also rumors circulating about at least three other GoT projects coming to life. The most progressed project is 9 Voyages or, Sea Snake with a full creative team set up including Gotham developer Bruno Heller. The series will be based on Corlys Velaryon’s voyages aboard the Sea Snake ship.
Other projects said to be in the works include Flea Bottom and 10,000 Ships, though neither has been confirmed. Flea Bottom refers to the slums of King’s Landing where Arya Stark fled to, and 10,000 Ships is in reference to the journey Princess Nymeria took, who Arya named her direwolf after 1000 years later.
HBO is also toying with adapting Martin’s Tales of Dunk & Egg novellas for TV, and possibly creating an animated GoT series for HBO Max.
