Game of Thrones season 7 is over, but we’re pretty obsessive over here, and we’re not done talking about it. HBO is helping us out by releasing a series of mini-documentaries, one for each episode of the season, about all the work that goes on behind the scenes.

The first mini-doc is, naturally, about “Dragonstone,” the first episode of season 7. Ah, remember those innocent days less than two months ago when we had a whole season of Game of Thrones to look forward to? Where did those days go?

Anyway, check out the video below — it hits all the big points of the episode, including Arya’s massacre of the Frey family, our new look at the army of the dead, Sam’s awful internship at the Citadel, and more.

Some fun notes:

  • They actually made a Walder Frey mask for Maisie Williams. Obviously that wasn’t her performing in the first scene, but that’s going above and beyond, and must be creepy for actor David Bradley.
  • The guy painting the map of Westeros in the Red Keep is actually the guy who painted the map of Westeros for the show.
  • I’m slightly obsessed with how Dan Weiss pronounces the word “montage.”
  • It’s fun to see how many different locations are stitched together to create Dragonstone.

We’ll look forward to the documentary about “Stormborn” and the making of that fiery battle at sea.
