Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is right around the corner, and HBO just dropped the first full trailer! After waiting for several months due to delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic, House of The Dragon wrapped up filming in February and is now well on its way to a premiere in August this year. We already had a tiny glimpse at the upcoming fantasy series back in October when the teaser trailer was released, and since then it has amassed over 16 million views. With the release of the first full trailer, the time is ripe to launch the hype engine! Watch it right here:
Circling around the civil war called the Dance of the Dragons from George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, the trailer perfectly encapsulates the intense rivalry between the two factions, the Greens (supporters of Alicent Hightower) and the Blacks (supporters of Rhaenyra Targaryen).
This is the first time we have an official look at the dragons that will appear in the show, one of the focal points of attraction of House of The Dragon. Compared to Game of Thrones, the number of dragons theorized to take the skies in the prequel series will increase manifold, and fans have been speculating about their appearance ever since the announcement of the show.
