Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season arrives in stores next Tuesday, December 12th, packed with all the goodies we’ve come to expect from HBO’s glossy and well-presented home editions. HBO is really pulling out all the stops this year, with a limited series of fan screenings taking place this winter in celebration of Season 7, offering a preview of Conquest & Rebellion, a spectacular animated feature, along with the showings of “The Spoils of War.”
My personal favorite aspect of the DVD/Blu-ray every year is the audio commentary featuring cast and crew members from the show on each episode, offering special insight from behind the scenes. The Complete Seventh Season is loaded with commentaries and luckily, HBO has provided us with a detailed listing of the talent for each episode!
Season 7 Audio Commentaries include:
Episode 1, “Dragonstone”
Director Jeremy Podeswa, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), and John Bradley (Samwell Tarly)
Episode 2, “Stormborn” (2 commentaries)
1. Co-Executive Producer & Writer Bryan Cogman , Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy), Prosthetics Supervisor Barrie Gower, Stunt Coordinator Rowley Irlam

1. Director Matt Shakman, Director of Photography Rob McLachlan, Special Effects Supervisor Sam Conway, and Camera Operator Chris Plevin
2. Producer Chris Newman, Visual Effects Supervisor Joe Bauer, and Visual Effects Producer Steve Kullback
Episode 5, “Eastwatch” (2 commentaries)
1. Director Matt Shakman, Writer Dave Hill, and Director of Photography Rob McLachlan
2. Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont)
Episode 6, “Beyond the Wall”

Episode 7, “The Dragon and the Wolf” (2 commentaries)
1. Executive Producers/Writers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow)

Hearing from the directors and major crew members involved provides incredible insight, especially for a show like Game of Thrones which is so rich in technical skill. Personally, I’ve got my eye on those “Stormborn” commentaries!
In addition to the audio commentaries, fans purchasing the Season 7 Blu-ray can look forward to animated Histories and Lore, a huge fan favorite each year. This year’s selections include:
The Dragonpit, narrated by Conleth Hill (Varys) and Anton Lesser (Qyburn)
The Citadel, narrated by John Bradley (Samwell Tarly)
Casterly Rock, narrated by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister)
Highgarden, narrated by James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly)
The Golden Company, narrated by Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont)
Prophecies of the Known World, narrated by John Bradley (Samwell Tarly)
