Yesterday, the Television Academy released the submission ballets for the 2019 Emmy Awards. This means we got to see what shows, actors, and crew members networks had put forward for Emmy consideration, which is different from what actually gets on the final ballot. We won’t see that until the Emmy nominations are announced on July 16.
Naturally, there are plenty of professionals from Game of Thrones submitted. For the most, there’s nothing surprising. Of HBO is going to put people forward for awards in cinematography, hairstyling, makeup, special effects and the like. And as controversial as the final season was, I wouldn’t seeing Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) make it onto the ballot for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series, or even for the show itself to be up for Outstanding Drama Series — the top award of the night — one last time.
But there were also some very curious omissions. What wasn’t submitted that should have been? Let’s talk it though.
