Season 5 is obviously the worst season in the series. No question.

danny is the most boring/least complex character in the show and books. if she didn't have dragons she would be less than zero.

You recall three episodes ago, Ser Jorah telling Tyrion “I was a cynic just like you…watched a girl walk into a great fire…..alive and unhurt holding her baby dragons…it’s hard to be a cynic after that.”
That moment Dany and Drogon taking flight was Tyrion having a similar moment.

The pit scene is utter shit compared to the book version. In the book, Daenerys had to EARN becoming a dragon rider and her dragon almost kills her in the process. She is bruised, naked and her hair is burning when she finally mounts her dragon. In the show, he just lets her mount him clumsily and they fly off. The scene is also the payoff for a long inner struggle of hers that's completely absent from the show. Show Daenerys has no character growth. She kind of sucks on the show tbh despite being my favorite character in the books.

This is a man who refused to  give up storms end and ate rats and fucking shoe leather rather then surrender, burn his own daughter because a couple of things went against them. So out of character. D&D can go fuck themselves.

Book-Stannis burned Alester Florent for offering Shireen to the Lannisters and conspiring behind his back. 

Show-Stannis burned him because he was an "infidel".

Book-Stannis burned Mance Rayder because death is the penalty for leaving the Night's Watch. 

Show-Stannis burned him because he wouldn't bend the knee.

Book-Stannis wasn't really impressed with the leeches until all three kings were dead. "Two is not three". Even then, he was reluctant with the prospect of burning an innocent. 

Show-Stannis wanted to burn Gendry as soon as the first king died.

Book-Stannis wouldn't burn cannibals to appease the followers of R'hollor and end the snowstorm. "Half my army is made up of unbelievers. I will have no burnings. Pray harder."

Show- burns his fucking daughter because Ramsay and his 20 good men apparently destroyed everything.
