Though it wasn’t received well by critics, audiences are loving Netflix’s The Witcher, and we’re set to get a second season next year. Now Screen Junkies has come out with their Honest Trailer take on one of the biggest shows from 2019.

Based on the books you’ve been meaning to read, that got spun off into games you’ve been meaning to finish, comes a series that’s meant to be the next Game of Thrones, but ended up more like the next Xena: Warrior Princess.
Though the fans did enjoy the show, the trailer points out a lot of problems with the series that probably irked the critics when they saw it. For one, the writing is pretty weak, and though we’re supposed to care about Ciri in the show, her sequences just end up dreadfully boring.
If anything, I have my hopes up that the second season of the show will be better. With the cast and crew getting more comfortable with work, it’s likely things will run a lot more smoothly when it comes to The Witcher 2.
Geralt of Rivia is a witcher, a mutant with special powers who kills monsters for money. The land is in a state of turmoil, due to the empire of Nilfgaard seeking to enlarge its territory. Among the refugees of this struggle is Cirilla, the Princess of Cintra, one of Nilfgaard’s victims. She and Geralt share a destiny. Meanwhile, another figure looms large in Geralt’s adventures: Yennefer, a sorceress.
No release date has been set for the second season of The Witcher, but you can catch the first season now on Netflix.
