Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in the works at HBO. So far, fans have showered the fantasy epic with love, just like its predecessor, dishing out characters, storylines, sceneries, and everything else that makes it so engaging. The filming is now in its second phase in Spain, where several iconic episodes will be shot.

Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are expected to arrive in Spain today

We previously reported that new sets for the filming of the second season of House of The Dragon have been constructed in Caceres and Trujillo in Spain. Today the cast members will be landing in Spain, including Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra) and Olivia Cooke (Alicent), to continue filming from where they left off at Leavesden Studios in UK, as reported by the fan account westerosies.

Filming for House of The Dragon Season 2 will take place in May in Cáceres and Trujillo

The city council of both the Spanish cities is already flowing Targaryen flags to welcome the cast and crew of House of The Dragon. According to the Twitter account House the Dragons, filming in Cáceres and Trujillo will start on May 18th and should last about a week. Local newspapers have also reported that HBO has already booked 100 hotel rooms for the team.

When will House of The Dragon return?

The filming of House of The Dragon season 2 is fast on the track, with the casting process complete and the sets being constructed at key locations. HBO chief Casey Bloys has confirmed in an indirect way that House of The Dragon won’t be coming back before the summer of 2024.
