The other week, we learned that House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen) had made GQ’s list of honorees for its annual Men of the Year awards. Other honorees include Stranger Things breakout Joseph Quinn, Underground Railroad star Sheila Atim, and Squid Game frontman Lee Jung-jae.

And now, the lot of them have put on their award show best and stepped out on the red carpet. The pictures are coming in! Take a look at D’Arcy rocking cyberpunk red hair and head-to-toe black leather:

While D’Arcy is the only member of the House of the Dragon cast being honored at the ceremony, they aren’t the only member who showed up for the event. Milly Alcock, who played Rhaenyra in her younger years, also stepped out:

And then there was Fabien Frankel, who plays Criston Cole, the worst mistake Rhaenyra ever made:

House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy honored at GQ’s Men of the Year ceremony

When we first reported that D’Arcy had made GQ’s Men of the Year list, there was some confusion over how they had gotten on when they are not, in fact, a man. D’Arcy identifies as non-binary. There are also several cis women on the list, as there have been for a long time; folk like Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Megan Thee Stallion have all been included over the years.

I’d never heard of GQ’s Men of the Year list before this, and now that I’ve looked into it a little more, I don’t think there’s much here to get worked up about. It’s just a list of people GQ thinks are cool that provides the magazine with an excuse to throw a party where rich and famous people hob-knob and down cocktails…which I guess you could call offensive, but not for the reasons that stirred everyone up the other week. “Why are there women and non-binary people on a list called Men of the Year?” I dunno. If GQ isn’t gonna stress itself out about it I don’t see why I should.

Anyway, congrats to all the honorees. You look fabulous.
