The final episode of Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon had everything that makes the franchise so special, amazing sceneries, beautiful sets, detailing in costumes, heartrending performances, and of course, the dragons. The tenth episode not only introduced us to the Black Council, but also to a new dragon, and not just any dragon. We see a brief glimpse of the Bronze Fury, Vermithor, the third largest dragon in Westeros to ever exist, after Balerion and Vhagar themselves. However, the most heartbreaking scene in the episode is Vhagar killing Luke and Arrax, and director Greg Yaitanes revealed what inspired it.

Yaitanes told Entertainment Weekly, “In preparation, I watched the first ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ because [Oscar-winning cinematographer] Roger Deakins was the visual consultant on that. So that, cinematically, was going to be really appealing. And I went back to the original ‘Jurassic Park’ because there was a sense of scale to the dinosaurs that I don’t think any of the subsequent films ever recaptured.”
He added, “[Director Steven Spielberg] knew he wanted to frame for height, and I took a lot of cues off what made the dinosaurs look so big and so interesting. So there’s a lot of ‘Jurassic Park’ in Storm’s End and in the air.” Yaitanes also revealed that he ended up changing the dragon fight sequence a bit after noticing similarities to How to Train Your Dragon.
