Warning: spoilers ahead for House of the Dragon episode 6.

House Of The Dragon fans have heaped praise on Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke as they made their debut as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower in the latest episode.

The pair took on the roles following a significant time jump in the series, taking over from Milly Alcock and Emily Carey who received rave reviews for their time in the show.

The sixth episode of the Game Of Thrones spin-off saw the pair, who were once friends, turn into bitter enemies with opposing political aspirations.

The latest installment of the series sees Rhaenyra give birth amid continued speculation over the identity of the father of her children, with her most vocal critic being the Queen herself, Alicent.

Fans have lauded the two on their debut performances, taking to social media to speak about the latest episode.

One user tweeted: ‘Shout out to Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke. They are incredible additions to HotD.’

‘A huge round of applause to both Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy. THIS IS ACTING,’ a second agreed.

A third said: ‘Emma and Olivia were amazing in their performances, they will eat this show.’

Olivia recently gave fans an insight into her first day of filming, though it may not be what you expect.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Olivia revealed that she was ‘very hungover’ on her first day, adding: ‘Really bad, actually. Really bad. And I never do that.’

The actor explained that the night before, she had joined comedian Alan Carr for a fun-filled evening to be a guest on his podcast… when things appear to have got slightly out of hand.

‘He’s got a podcast and he invited me to be on the podcast, and I was very excited. And my call time the next day wasn’t until 11, and so I brought a bottle of wine just as a gesture,’ Olivia recalled.

‘The podcast’s finished and we’re just chatting, chatting, chatting, he’s telling me loads of gossip. More wine, more wine, more wine – I don’t remember getting home.’

The 28-year-old outlined how at one point during the night, she tipped her hair over to put her hair in a ponytail, but accidentally fell over.

‘And then I woke up the next day and I had a chip in my tooth,’ she added, prompting gasps from the audience.

‘Very slight chip, but enough that the tongue magnifies it and you’re like, what have I done?’

House of the Dragon is available to stream on NOW.
