James Norton to play Ormund Hightower in House of the Dragon

The character is described as Otto’s (Rhys Ifans) nephew, Alicent’s (Olivia Cooke) and Gwayne’s (Freddie Fox) cousin, and the Lord of Oldtown. He is currently leading the Hightower forces in a march on King’s Landing to support his house against Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy).

Who is Ormund Hightower?

In the second season, the Hightower army appeared alongside Daeron Targaryen and his dragon, Tessarion. Otto Hightower mentioned his nephew, Ormund Hightower, who is gathering an army to support the Greens. This suggests that Ormund will likely make an appearance in the third season.

As Otto’s nephew, Ormund is set to lead the Hightower forces. In George R. R. Martin’s books, he plays a crucial role in the Dance of the Dragons, commanding the Hightower army in several significant battles. Ormund Hightower was the head of House Hightower and Lord of Oldtown during this period. He succeeded his father, Hobert Hightower, and took on major responsibilities during the civil war.
