The eagerly awaited prequel to Game Of Thrones is here and social media has been filled with fans talking all-things House Of The Dragon.
One moment that has set the internet alight is one NSFW scene involving Matt Smith – after all, it wouldn’t be a Game Of Thrones series without sex.
The moment in question shows Smith’s character Daemon Targaryen as he is caught with Sonoya Mizuno’s Mysaria.
Later, in another eye-opening shot, Daemon is in a brothel surrounded by a crowd of people all mid-intercourse, before he stops the commotion to make a speech with everyone freezing in exactly the position there were in when he started talking.
Watching the graphic sex scenes, one viewer said they ‘choked on my taco’, while another noted: ‘Only took 25 minutes for there to be a sex scene in House of the Dragon lmao,’ a second said.
A third posted: ‘Matt Smith really did that sex scene THAT way wow so powerful of him.’
Others praised the 39-year-old former Doctor Who star for his performance in the show, which is set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and follows the Targaryen family history, starting right at the formation of Westeros.
One said: ‘Everyone applaud Matt Smith for his portrayal as Daemon Targaryen. He plays the Rogue Prince absolutely perfect.’
Another added: ‘1 episode in all I can say is Matt Smith is absolutely smashing it! This show is amazing #HouseoftheDragon#HOTD.’
The actor spoke about the amount of sex in the show earlier this month, telling Rolling Stone: ‘You do find yourself asking, “Do we need another sex scene?”
‘And they’re like, “Yeah, we do.”I guess you have to ask yourself: “What are you doing? Are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we’re living in]?”
‘And I actually think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honesty, as they were written.’
House Of The Dragon will be the first in a number of planned spin-off series to arrive from HBO – including one focused on Jon Snow – offering a deeper dive into the history and mythology of Martin’s creation.
It features an all-star cast including Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, and Graham McTavish.
House of the Dragon will continue on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW on August 29, 2022.
