The production for Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is in full swing. We’re receiving updates about the filming currently going on in the Portuguese city of stone, Monsanto, via leaks that are reported every other day. Former Doctor Who Matt Smith is playing the role of Prince Daemon Targaryen on the show, one of the key players in the story of House of The Dragon. And his dragon, Caraxes, is going to be one of the meanest, biggest, and baddest beasts in the series.

Smith, in his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, talked about various aspects of the Game of Thrones prequel, including the release date of the highly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel. As expected, he was tight-lipped and did not dive much into the details, but he did leave a hint for the fans who are waiting impatiently for the series to finally be here. Smith revealed in the podcast:

“We’ve been doing it since March, and I finish in January. It’s tough, it’s a long shoot.”

What does this mean for House of The Dragon? Matt Smith is playing one of the most important characters in the series. If you’ve been following the leaks for the past few months, you will know there’s one person who has been spotted at almost all the filming locations, and that is Matt Smith. We also know that the prequel is going to be a multi-seasoned show, and if we go by the source material Smith’s Daemon Targaryen isn’t supposed to die this early. So we can make an intelligent guess the filming for the first season won’t go on for long after he finishes in January.

When do you think House of The Dragon will arrive? Will it be by mid-2022 or towards the end? Tell us in the comments below!

Filming for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving very swiftly, as evident from the frequent leaks we’re witnessing with every passing day. Though HBO has been mum about revealing any more info about the show, these periodic leaks are causing waves of excitement amongst the fans, as they’re left wondering and speculating who’s who in the new set pictures. Last month the show was filming at a number of sites in Spain, and it seems they have finally completed filming in the country.

The Game of Thrones prequel filmed a number of important scenes at various sites in Spain, the prominent ones being Trujillo and Caceres. The production at Caceres was halted till November 3 as one of the important crew members was down with covid, and it looks like the team has managed to successfully wrap up filming after the minor delay.

Here are some snaps of the final day shoot in Caceres, tweeted by Portal House of the Dragon Brasil and House The Dragons fanpages:

One of the last scenes to be shot at the site appears to be some kind of fire in King’s Landing. Hopefully, we’ll get more information about it, whether it is the result of an insurgency or dragonfyre.

It seems like the vestiges of the terror that hit us in the wretched year 2020 are still haunting us to this day. Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa, famous for playing Khal Drogo on the show, and also for playing the DC superhero Aquaman, has tested positive for coronavirus, soon after the London premiere of his latest film Dune.

The actor on his Instagram said that he “got hit with COVID” after going to the London premiere of Dune and spending time with a large number of people.

I got hit with COVID right after the premiere. There was a lot of people I met in England, so got a lot of aloha from people. And who knows?” how he got it, Jason said Friday, as per People magazine.

The 42-year-old star added that “either way, I`m doing fine. Thank you for all your concerns and love,” he said. “And, yeah, I`m just camped out in my house. Mahalo for all the love and support.”

He further shared that he is isolating with his roommate- skateboarder Erik Ellington.

Everyone wants to know how COVID is going, it’s going pretty good,” he said in another update, as he filmed Ellington doing tricks on his skateboard through the house. “Yeah, we`re having a ball,” Jason said with a laugh, as per People magazine.

The actor has not yet confirmed if he was vaccinated against COVID-19.

Let’s hope he recovers from the infection speedily. Send in your well wishes in the comments below!
