House of the Dragon reaches milestone viewership

Though the premiere of the second season was stellar, it was nowhere close to the first season. However, it seems like the show is finally making a comeback. The figures presented by Variety showed that House of the Dragon attracted 8.1 million viewers across HBO and Max in the U.S. for its intense fourth episode of Season 2 on Sunday, narrowly surpassing the viewership of last month’s premiere.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 4 rakes in record ratings

The massive jump in viewership was also accompanied by a serious bump in TV ratings. Though season 2 ratings weren’t bad by any means, it was missing the oomph factor that could make the viewers go “gaga”. Episode 4 of House Of The Dragon Season 2, titled “The Red Dragon and the Gold,” has become the highest-rated episode of the series on IMDb, with a rating of 9.7 out of 10.

The episode has become the 5th highest-rated in the entire franchise, closely following the Game of Thrones episodes Battle of the Bastards, The Winds of Winter, The Rains of Castamere (all 9.9) and Hardhome (9.8).
