Fans are looking forward to the second season of House of the Dragon, which will premiere in the summer of 2024. The Game of Thrones prequel is based on George R.R. Martin‘s novel “Fire and Blood” and introduces numerous new characters from Westeros’ history.
We now have an approximate date for the release of Season 2, as hinted by House of the Dragon star Matt Smith.
House of the Dragon season 2 release window revealed by cast member
The first teaser trailer for the second season of House of the Dragon was launched not too long ago. Besides giving a glimpse of what’s to come in the upcoming installment, the trailer also ended with the announcement of its arrival in Summer 2024. The show’s star, Matt Smith, who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, made the date even clearer when asked about it in BBC’s Sounds podcast, where he said, “August I think, it’s this summer.”
House of the Dragon Season 3 in early production
Because of the enormous popularity of the first season, work on the second season of House of the Dragon began even before the season finale. House of the Dragon’s second season is going through the same scenario, only further ahead of schedule. An insider report claims that work on House of the Dragon Season 3 would begin in January 2024, with active script writing and other very early work.
