The first season of House of the Dragon has left fans wanting more, and the show had been renewed for a second chapter even before the season finale aired. It might be some time for the second season to finally be here, as it takes a lot of hard work, planning, patience, coordination between various departments, and a big budget. HBO chief Casey Bloys had confirmed that Season 2 won’t be airing before 2024, as the scripts have also arrived really late.

When were House of The Dragon season 2 scripts completed?

The news comes from Middle East Film and Comic Con in Abu Dhabi, where Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen) was a guest and he revealed that he finally received the scripts, although a bit late. He said, “I got all the scripts on Friday, actually. They’re really late. It’s always the way, isn’t it? They always come in so late. I haven’t gotten to the end of it yet”

Why did the scripts take so long to complete?

According to a recent rumor, George R. R. Martin was involved in a number of script rewrites for Season 2 of House of The Dragon. This is a very plausible reason why the production date was shifted to April and the scripts arrived late.

When will House of The Dragon return?

The filming of House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in pre-production, with the casting currently in progress. HBO chief Casey Bloys has confirmed in an indirect way that House of The Dragon won’t be coming back before the summer of 2024.
