The final episode of House of the Dragon was mostly set in and around Dragonstone. The episode introduced viewers to the nooks and crannies of the fictional island, and filming it was no easy task. The breathtaking smoky visuals enthralled the viewers, serving as the aptly named seat of House Targaryen. Season 2 of the Game of Thrones prequel will feature Dragonstone more prominently.
Dragonstone will feature more frequently in House of the Dragon Season 2
Dragonstone will be the base of operation for Queen Rhaenyra and The Blacks in Season 2. In a recent chat with Voice of Oldtown, Max Wrottesley, who played the Kingsguard knight Ser Lorent Marbrand in Season 1, revealed:
“This year, I think people are going to be excited to see more of Dragonstone. The set is bigger, better. There’s more of it. So people get more of a sense of what life at Dragonstone is like. Like, it’s a big show. People have got a lot to look forward to…I think people are gonna be really excited for what they see.”
Rhaenyra and Alicent could cross paths on Dragonstone
There are other hypotheses regarding Rhaenyra and Alicent being spurned lovers, but it is known that the two are at odds right now. In House of the Dragon Season 2, the two erstwhile best friends won’t see much of each other as Westeros descends into a violent civil war waged between them. However, according to a recent theory, the two may meet in the Season 2 finale and can meet on Dragonstone.
