The civil war within the Targaryen family is one of the biggest challenges for the first season of House of the Dragon. The story needs to be stretched over multiple decades in order to fully explore the conflict. This will provide a more complete picture of the events leading up to the Game of Thrones series.

Episode 6, “The Princess and the Queen,” is when D’Arcy and Cooke make their first appearances in the series. The episode opens with a harrowing scene that is set 10 years after Episode 5. In this scene, Rhaenyra gives birth to her third child, and then she has to take the newborn baby to Queen Alicent right after the birth because the queen demanded to see the child.

Well, since the beginning of season 1, viewers have been experiencing severe time jumps. In this regard, in a recent interview with Variety, showrunner Ryan Condal revealed that season 2 will not have any time jumps.

He said that, keeping the conversation of the upcoming season in a loop –

The storytelling becomes fairly in the rhythms of the original ‘Game of Thrones’ series.”

So that’s that. No major time jumps in Season 2, so you can expect the storytelling pace to get much more linear. He also noted that House of the Dragon is more of a flashback show than Game of Thrones, so we might just get to see the characters and actors from Season 1 sometime again in future seasons.

The new series has been a success, averaging 29 million viewers per episode and continuing to grow week by week.
