In the latest interview with The Guardian, Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, revealed that House of the Dragon Season 3 will begin filming later this year itself. He said,

We go again.

Smith mentioned that he’s aware of the privilege of the role and doesn’t take it for granted.

When I’m sitting on a dragon – which I’m ashamed to admit is not a real dragon – and there are wind and rain machines blowing at me for hours, you’ve got to think there are people doing jobs that are way fucking harder.

A great news for the entire fandom that is hoping the next season comes sooner rather than later. Smith feels lucky to be a part of such a successful series. When asked about feeling constrained in a franchise, Smith addressed his time on Doctor Who,

“I’ve done it before with Doctor Who, so no. The brass tacks of it is that I feel very privileged to be in a show that people actually turn up to see, because that’s not a given.”

In the meantime, House of the Dragon Season 2 premieres this Sunday, where Daemon Targaryen is expected to play a major role.
