For ten years, HBO’s Game of Thrones dominated hearts, audiences, and the awards circuit. It was a television phenomenon in every way. House of the Dragon, the prequel series, appears to be taking its cues very seriously. The show has received several nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards and has already won The Golden Globe for Best Drama. The Game of Thrones spinoff has already secured another prestigious accolade ahead of the awards season.

House of the Dragon claims the ‘Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes’ Emmy Award

Due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the award ceremonies got postponed as well, including the much-sought-after Emmys. The winners of some categories are announced ahead of the actual ceremony, such as the Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes. The Television Academy declared House of the Dragon the winner today, with an official announcement.
