Arya Stark had one of the most amazing story-arcs on Game of Thrones. Even though there were speculations about who was going to kill the Night King, Arya doing the deed was quite an unexpected one. Moreover, Maisie Williams went to great lengths to portray her character truthfully to the source material. In an interview with the Hot Ones, she revealed she trained and performed all the fight-scenes left-handed, despite being right-handed herself.

She said, “That was 12-year-old me being a feminist I guess. I had just seen on the internet because this was the most exciting thing that ever happened to me, so I’d read everything about Game of Thrones online, and everyone was like ‘Oh, that horse is supposed to be black, not white’ and getting really upset about the most trivial things.”

“So I was like ‘I guess I’m going to have to do this left-handed’,” she added. “And at the beginning, it was very exciting, but I would always come into the choreography and they would start teaching it to me and I’d be like ‘You have done it right-handed haven’t you?’” she recalled about keeping the stunt coordinators in check.

And they’d be like ‘Yeah we did,’ and I’m like: ‘Well you are going to have to change it all, I’ll be back at noon’,” said the actress, quickly adding jokingly: “No, I wouldn’t say it like that. I wish I was though. 12-year-old me like that, it would have been funny.”
