Game of Thrones was a memorable experience for both the fans and the show’s crew. Rarely do we see a TV show achieve massive popularity as Game of Thrones did in the last decade. Many of the show’s crew have moved on to new projects, including one of the executive producers Frank Doelger. The six-time Emmy award winner is working on adapting Frank Schätzing’s 900-page novel “The Swarm”, which is set to release on March 4, 2023.

The series shows how seemingly unconnected events around the globe affect marine creatures, causing them to behave in erratic and concerning ways. A group of scientists is tasked with finding out the root cause, but they are not prepared for the revelation yet.
Doelger told Variety, “One of the things I learned during my years on ‘Game of Thrones’ was that the elements that were real, that felt very grounded, were a terrific foil for the elements that were more supernatural. And I felt that in the course of ‘The Swarm,’ we wanted to start as real as possible to make you feel like this is happening at this moment, and then gradually introduce other elements. In the last two episodes, we go into this slightly more surreal fantasy world, but that’s a slow build. I wanted to make sure that the fantasy elements earned their place.”
