Zach Anner, a self-proclaimed “climate change idiot” is here to find out what the hell climate change is and what people across America are doing (or not doing) about it! In “Earth Your While,” join Zach as he talks with climate change experts who have a variety of opinions on climate change, what causes it, and whether we actually need to be thinking about it. In this Earth Your While adventure, Zach talks with the L.A. Kitchen, an organization that helps prevent food waste, and provides job opportunities for those in need.

  1. #Earthit I went around a career exhibition event that was hosted inside a prestigious casino/hotel, collecting food that people had tossed away uneaten and in its original food packaging (apples, sandwiches, cakes). Didn't give a damn about people/security guards who were looking at me. Then spent the day going around town handing it out to the homeless.

It's such a shame that we live in a society that has everything, that we take for food for granted. That chicken died for you just so you could have a wing or a drumstick. That fruit or grain of rice survived the trip all the way from the farm to the kitchen, to your plate…and if you wasted it you really won't be respecting it. Respect, love and not having a fear of judgement I find are key qualities to being a great environmental-champion beginner.

  2. I'm such a stickler about wasting food. i just can't do it. It actually makes me upset when I see other people waste food. When I see it about to happen, I swoop in and save the food to be used for later. Yup, other people call me a weirdo, but they dont realize how much good food is being wasted for seemingly no reason at all.

  3. That is actually one of the best videos soulpancake has ever done since it started! I try to never throw away food, I box it and give it to someone who's needy, as much as I can. I love this video! Thank you Zach and everyone!! 😉

  4. I recently bought over-ripe bananas and made banana bread. They're easier to mash when they're over-ripe. Using produce that is getting old in smoothies is also a good way to use them, or freeze stuff.
