By the time season three of Game Of Thrones rolled around, this epic fantasy was just getting bigger and bigger. In the aftermath of the stunning Battle of the Blackwater, fans were clamouring for more of Westeros and boy, did they get their wish with this season.
From our first introduction to the Unsullied and Mance Rayder’s wildling army, from Jon and Ygritte’s iconic cave scene to the scheming politics of Tyrion and Sansa’s wedding, this is a season full of spectacle, passion, horror, war and of course, betrayal, all culminating in what remains one of Thrones’ most shocking moments to date.
In amongst the continuing War of the Five Kings, we also get more insight into Jon’s leadership, Bran’s far-reaching knowledge, Tyrion’s fragility, Daenerys’ power, and more and more development from some of the emerging characters on the board, as well as an introduction to one particularly sinister psychopath (poor Theon).
